Transform Your Self

A Family That Plays Together Stays Together

While this statement sounds too simple to be true, the truth is that playing together is a fundamental characteristic of happy, healthy families. People who play together, i.e. engage in and share joyful experiences, will form stronger bonds, enjoy greater health and feel more joy in life.

What happens when we play?

  • we laugh
  • we talk
  • we share jokes
  • we build memories
  • we forget about challenges
  • we give our bodies a break from tension
  • we build sense of community
  • we open up
  • we strengthen bonds.

Who is your family?

fam·i·ly (fam’?-le, fam’le)
a. A fundamental social group in society typically consisting of one or two parents and their children.
b. Two or more people who share goals and values, have long-term commitments
to one another
c. All the members of a household under one roof.

My personal definition in the context of this text is: Your family includes those people whose company you enjoy and for whom you feel genuine appreciation and/or affection.

  • spouse
  • relatives
  • friends
  • co workers
  • neighbors
  • business associates
  • some One you want to include into your life

That’s it. You decide who’s in your Family!

What’s Play to you?

Too obvious a question? Well, good! Turns out that in our overscheduled lives, it’s hard to find time to play and many of us have literally forgotten how!

  • What are the activities you enjoy?
  • When do you feel relaxed?
  • How do you experience joy?

How do you put it into practice?
